Avo' Toast at home... or how to save your self $10
Call me foolish, but as much as I love a good avocado toast, I have a hard time paying the $12 I'm seeing it sold for at trendy little lunch bistros. So, how to make artesian avo toast at home? I like to use a healthy, gluten free bread (I don't eat alot of bread, so when I do I like it to be goooood!), like Bunners, or Little Northern Bakehouse. Use the luck of the universe to find a perfectly ripe avocado and smush (is there a more technical term for this action?!) a generous amount onto two slices of toast. I firmly believe the best avo toast is all in the toppings; my favourites include sauerkraut (fermented goodness!), hemp hearts, vegan parmesan, a spice mix, and/or coconut bacon. Serve with side of premium pickles and a handful of fresh berries and voila, millenial magic, made at home.
