How To Meditate With Your Kids
Last year I started meditating with my then 5YO, essentially a handful of deep breaths and a moment to share the things in our lives that make us feel grateful. In the beginning I had to somewhat entice him to sit with me (I let him play with crystals to hold his attention!), but a year into our joint practice, I'd say I barely have to encourage him at all. Like anything, the more you practice, the more a new habit becomes part of your day to day; our few moments in the morning sitting together is a time we both enjoy, and it sets the tone for our day. At a time when others in the world have so little, it is important to recognize how fortunate we are, to help put things in perspective and set the tone for the day.
