Teas & Tinctures To Beat Cold & Flu Season
Well folks, with the looming cold just ahead of us, it’s safe to say I’m stocking my cupboards with everything my family is going to need to beat the sniffles and the sneezes this cold & flu season.
This year I am putting a lot of effort into a pre-emptive strike, and am hoping to keep us both strong and healthy throughout.
I love the ritual and coziness of a warm mug of goldenmylk at the end of the day, it’s a really nice opportunity to chat with my son, and the warm liquid is full of anti-inflammatory, immune boosting goodness. I’ll enjoy that with him, and then later in the evening treat myself to a reishi hot chocolate for stress relief, or a warm magnesium supplement to help with sleep.
I like THIS medicinal mushroom tincture from Botanica to help prevent colds & flu, as well as a vitamin C spray for both of us, and a vitamin B-12 spray for me (I’m plant-based so this helps keep my B levels up).
If we have a sore throat I’ll use THIS homeopathic honey cough syrup from Boiron, and/or a Bee Keepers Naturals Throat Spray For Kids. If he is feeling under the weather I’ll give him an immune boosting tincture like THIS kid’s one from St Francis.
David’s Tea recently sent me an organic loose leaf blend called Mother’s Little Helper which I love to wind down in the evening. Managing stress is a big thing for me, and anything I can do to stay more balanced is a great addition to my routine. I also love Four Sigmatic teas as they incorporate medicinal mushrooms, particularly their Mushroom Matcha Latte for an little extra pep in my step!
