Wellness Is The New Going Out
It seems there is a new wave in wellness that I’m more than happy to embrace - healthy activities as ways to connect and socialize, like hitting up the local pub but without the hangover!
With more people cutting down on their booze intake, or stepping away entirely, we are seeing an increase in alcohol free activities designed to engage and entertain, as well as being good for body, mind and soul.
Daybreaker parties where 9-5’ers hit the yoga dance floor before they don suits and head to the office are all the rage; elixirs and superfood shots replace booze, but the light shows and high energy DJ’s remain.
Yoga retreats to exotic locals are popular getaways for couples, families and friend groups, where memories are made, and bonds are strengthened over meditative walks and yoga, rather than drinking to excess.
With this in mind, I’ve decided to launch RAW + BASIC monthly wellness retreats right here in Toronto. For my faraway friends there will still be opportunity to travel, but for now I want to keep it local and add to the wellness offerings out there by creating a way to connect, learn and laugh while nourishing our minds, bodies and spirits with yoga, meditation, and tons of natural goodness.
