My Latest Healthy Snack Obsessions!
Between the Veg Food Fest and last weekend’s CHFA show, I have been spending a lot of time snacking, all in the name of research of course! While I do enjoy fresh fruit and veg, handfuls of almonds etc, I am a big fan of nutritious convenience foods that I can snack on running around town, and that are relatively easy to digest and taste good. I am happy to report I definitely found some new goodies to add to my arsenal!
Nativas Naturals Coffee Cacao Snack - Love me a lil coffee infused anything (ya feel me Mama’s?), and these raw squares of deliciousness (and antioxidant goodness!), are the perfect pick me up, post-yoga, at your desk or in transit to your next meeting, soccer practice, or grabbing the week’s grocery haul.
Amazing Grass Green Superfood Lemon Lime - I am all about eating an abundance of oh-so-good for you greens, but I am the first to admit that sometimes pace of life gets in the way of my menu goals. Enter these super cute effervescent Greens tablets that simply dissolve in a glass of water and provide you with one serving of your daily greens & veggies, and come in an convenient travel-friendly tube.
Enjoy Life Carrot & Raisin Bars - This brand is one of the best for being free of several of the top allergens, (which makes them an easy fit for school lunches), but who knew they are super yummy for grown ups too! My son picked out all the chocolate chip bars and left me with these carrot & raisin ones which is a-ok with me because they’re the perfect treat/travel snack, and taste great.
Pulp & Press Juice Co Red Monster - There are several things I love about this juice brand, primarily their quality ingredients, delish flavours, and their reasonable price points. Is it me or are cold pressed juices crazy expensive these days? I always see this brand accessibly priced (we scored some on sale at Metro!), and both my son and I love their Red Monster blend of beets, apple, cucumber and lemon.
Ceres Smoothie To Go Mango - I am quite familiar with this organic brand as my son beelines to their juice boxes when we are stocking up for bday parties and the like. Their smoothie pouches reminded me of a great baby food I used to give him, so I grabbed a couple for him to try out in his lunches and they were a huge hit! But here’s the best part, the pouches make an equally awesome snack for adults, and again are great for keeping me fuelled on the go!
