These Are My Summer Beauty Must-Haves From Detox Market Canada...
Summer is my favourite season both for the ease of lifestyle and for my minimized beauty routine. Taking care of my skin goes a long way - I’m staying hydrated with my 8 glasses daily, as well as enjoying good fats (hello avocados!). When it comes to beauty choices, I’m barely touching heavy foundations in favour of natural skin with a hint of makeup over these hot summer months.
So what am I loving from one of my favourite green beauty go-to’s, Detox Market Canada? I’d say a mix of natural beauty products as well as light makeup to nourish my skin and add a little extra glow.
Whether I’m working Odacite’s pretty blue cleanser into my morning ritual or swiping my skin post spin class, I’m always in the mood for a splash of this Ayurvedic formula (neem, holy basil and tumeric combined with salicylic acid and grapefruit) to easily wipe away dirt, makeup and pollution.
I’m newly obsessed with Kosa, and the clean beauty brand’s hyaluronic lip balms (the first product in their sport capsule collection) absolutely make my list for summer makeup must haves. Sleek packages slide easily into the teeniest pockets (anyone else living in cut-offs?); Baseline is the perfect clear balm for everyday use (great for kiddo’s too!), while Rush and Pulse are subtly tinted and equally nourishing minty treatments that add a summer-fresh glow.
A longtime fan of rms’ pots of finger applied lip & cheek tints, highlighters and un-concealer, this is my first foray into the brand’s solids and I was more than happy with the results. This trio comprises a bronzer, blush and highlighter in a slender mirrored compact and are among my go to’s for a sun-skissed summer look. I use the highlighter as an eyeshadow for a little drama, and the bronzer to even out my glow. The blush is IMO the perfect shade of pink - a pressed replica of rms’s best selling lip2cheek formula.
I’ve always enjoyed a little sparkle and I have no plans to lay off the shimmer any time soon! I love a swipe of Rituel de Fille’s highlight intensifier on cheekbones, eyelids or anywhere else that I fancy a little extra luminosity; such a sweet way to elevate my daytime beach vibe to a summer party worthy evening look.
I’ll admit it - I tend to run hot and summer sweat is a bit of thing when it comes to my makeup! In the event that I do decide to wear some mascara or darker eye colours a thin sweep of W3LL People’s Invisible Powder under my eyes keeps everything in place and a light dusting provides all over coverage to absorb excess oil and contribute to a summery glow.
As much as possible I’m trading my blow dryer for some simpler styling tools over the summer, one of my faves being this pink himalayan salt spray from Innersense. Whether I’m hitting the beach, prettying up post-yoga or heading out for the afternoon, a nourishing spritz of this texturizing spray leaves me feeling calm (inhale lavendar and angelica), and my hair soft and hydrated thanks to the healing power of aloe vera.
