Earth Day Must-Haves For Eco-Friendly Living

Earth Day Must-Haves For Eco-Friendly Living

Earth Day is a wonderful way to celebrate Mother Nature and bring awareness to the importance of taking care of our fragile planet, but there are easy ways to make a difference the other 364 days of the year. Making these simple switches is easy and rewarding - we save money and the earth, and we set an actionable example for generations to come.

  1. Reusable Straws

It’s comforting to see so many individuals and collectives taking action against the use of single use plastics, straws being the most common offender. Stocking the cutlery drawer with a couple of sets of the reusable version is the easiest way to incorporate this planet-friendly option into your daily routine; toss a set (many come with a pouch and a cleaning brush) into your bag to have at the ready throughout the day.

  2. Reusable Coffee Mug

Making your morning cuppa at home not only saves you cash money, it also eliminates the need for takeout coffee cups. Need a top up mid-morning? Many coffee shops will offer an incentive to bring your own mug, and having it with you from the get-go is a good reminder to keep using it!

  3. Shampoo Bars

Not only do shampoo bars eliminate the need for plastic packaging, they also make cleansing the scalp and roots of the hair that much simpler. Going on a trip? These round solids fit easily in the palm of your hand and can often be purchased with a reusable tin - the perfect travel companion!

  4. Dryer Balls

Clearing your laundry room of conventional household products greatly reduces exposure to unnecessary toxins and the need to constantly purchase drier sheets! Dryer balls are reusable and can be sourced through artisans that have a sustainable relationship with their suppliers, as well as being a great option for anyone with a scent sensitivity!
